If you provide services to the United Way of South Central Illinois service areas of Jefferson, Marion, Washington or Wayne Counties in Illinois, please fill out the 2-1-1 New Provider Form.
What is 2-1-1?
2-1-1 is an easy to remember telephone number providing 24/7/365 free, confidential access to information about the full range of community, social, health and crisis intervention services. 2-1-1 call specialists are available to help individuals lovate health and human service assistance, on everything from mortgage assistance, EITC tax help and food and shelter, to job counseling services and health resources.
2-1-1 Illinois and United Way have been designated by the state of Illinois to expand 2-1-1 statewide over the next several years. We are planning on rolling out 21-1 in the Jefferson, Marion, Washington and Wayne Counties to go live once all data for social services is obtained.
Every hour of every day, someone in the United States needs essential services- from finding substance abuse assistance to securing adequate care for a child or an again parent. Faced with a dramatic increase in the number of agencies and help lines, people often don't know where to turn. In many cases people end up going without these necessary and readily available services because they don't know where to start.
While services that are offered through 2-1-1 vary from community to community, 2-1-1 provides callers with information about and referrals to human services for every day needs and in times of crisis. For example, 2-1-1 can offer access for those in need or those wishing to help to the following types of service organizations:
-Basic Human Needs
-Physical and Mental Health Resources
-Support for Older Americans and Persons with Disabilities
-Support for Children, Youth and Families
