RADIO-A-THON
For the second year United Way held it's campaign RADIO-A-THON! The Radio-A-Thon is a partnership with WDML Radio Station. WDML is a tremendous supporter of the United Way's efforts and provided a full day of on-air time to host this day long event for the United Way and they donated 20 free commercials that were given to one of the businesses that participated by giving a pledge of $100 or more! A very special thanks to David Lister and Ryan Roddy of WDML and all the many volunteers who worked so hard to make this day happen!
THE DAY WAS A TREMENDOUS SUCCESS WITH THE
UNITED WAY RAISING OVER $4100 IN PLEDGES!!!
The day long event started off with a live remote from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Kroger, on November 14, 2008. Hot dogs and ice cream were given away to all that stopped by for the fun and festivities!
United Way volunteers placed calls to local businesses to encourage their participation in this community-wide event. Businesses that participated by giving a gift of $100 or more to the United Way recieved:
- Radio On-Air recognition
- United Way website exposure
- Newspaper "thank you" and recognition
- Chance to win 20 free radio commercials with WDML - SCOTT ROGERS AT ROGERS FAMILY TIRE WON THE COMMERCIALS!

Clean & Classy Detail donated a $100 car detailing gift certificate that was given to Gina Willis, of Willy's Restaurant for her pledge of $150!!!!
