For the 4th year in a row, the United Way of South Central Illinois is helping all children in Jefferson County get a good start to the school year by partnering with local businesses to coordinate Stuff the Bus, an opportunity that will provide needy students with proper school supplies and personal hygiene products to assist each of them with their studies and help build self-esteem.

          Throughout these summer months, we are asking employee groups and service organizations to volunteer to contribute and collect donations of new school supplies for local elementary, middle school, and high school students from low-income families.

          All children look forward to having the necessary items to start the school year off right, but it’s a different story for unfortunate families who cannot afford these items. 

That’s where your business or organization can help.

          Collect school supplies and personal hygiene products until August 5th.  We hope that you will join us at Wal-Mart on Monday, August 8^th at 10:00 AM as we form a human chain to Stuff the Bus. 

Below is a general list of school supplies and personal hygiene items, but keep in mind that all products for school and personal care are acceptable and greatly appreciated.
