FREE CARE IS COMING TO OUR REGION

United Way of South Central Illinois is working to bring a two-day Remote Area Medical (RAM®) clinic to our region—free dental, vision and medical care for people who have gone without it.

 

This is not a health fair. It is a temporary, fully functioning clinic supported by licensed volunteer professionals, mobile equipment and RAM’s national clinical systems. Depending on the final clinic plan and volunteer capacity, services may include dental cleanings, fillings and extractions; comprehensive eye exams and prescription eyeglasses made on site; general medical exams and screenings; health education; and connections to continuing local care.

 

No insurance required. No identification required. No cost to the patient. Care will be provided first come, first served.

 

A clinic of this scale takes a community. We will need healthcare professionals, general volunteers, sponsors, meals, lodging, logistics and outreach partners. More details—including the confirmed site, service lineup and volunteer registration—will be posted as planning is finalized.
