We began funding teacher grants in Jefferson County a few years ago. Since then, the program has grown to Salem and Centralia through our chamber partnerships. Delivering grants to teachers is one of our favorite activities of the year. Their excitement is contagious—and seeing the kids’ faces when new classroom possibilities come to life is even better.

First-year teacher grants

A teacher’s first classroom should feel full of possibility. These grants help newly graduated teachers in Jefferson County create a fun activity, start a special project, or add something welcoming to their classroom for students to enjoy. We award them before the school year begins, so teachers can start strong from day one. First-year teacher grants are currently available only in Jefferson County.

Regular teacher and classroom grants

Later in the fall, educators can apply for classroom grants through the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce, and the Greater Centralia Chamber of Commerce. These grants help teachers bring needed resources and creative ideas to their students.
